His life journey here on earth has ended, but his new life has just begun. James Robert Jackson Sr. (Jimmy), 73, entered the Father’s presence on December 10, 2023. He was born in Richmond, Va. on October 8, 1950, to Oliver James Jackson and Spraye Juanita Jackson. He accepted Christ at an early age, joining the Brown Grove Baptist Church in Ashland, Va.
Jimmy was educated in the Hanover County School system and a graduate of Patrick Henry High School, class of ’69. After retiring from Dominion Energy after 31 years of service, he started a new career in the Public Utilities Dept. for the County of Henrico until his retirement due to health issues.

Jimmy would later join Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Glen Allen, where he was a faithful member of the Trustees Board. He so enjoyed doing anything that would better our church.
On June 21, 1969, he would marry his high school sweetheart Brenda Mason Jackson. To this union, they had two sons, James R. Jackson Jr. (Robbie), and Terrance L. Jackson (Terry).
Any family member or non-family member would simply describe Jimmy as just a good guy who loved the Lord.

Jimmy will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his grandson, D’Marco Jackson, his brothers Clinton and Alvin Jackson, his sister Yolanda Jackson, and his parents.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Brenda Jackson, 2 sons, James R. Jackson Jr. (Robbie), Terrance L. Jackson (Terry), 6 grandsons Cameron, Devon, Donovan, Ryan, Payton and Jordan Jackson, 2 great grandsons, Za’kia and Kameron Jackson, one uncle, Rev. Benjamin Jackson, 2 nieces, 2 nephews, and a host of loving cousins and friends.
