The Lord, God of all comfort called to rest Gladys Catherine Anderson on Thursday, February 29, 2024. Gladys was born in Hanover County, VA on December 14, 1935 to Marcellus Anderson and Cuetta Smith Anderson. Gladys accepted Christ at an early age as her personal Savior and became a member of St. James Baptist Church in Beaverdam, VA.
Gladys was educated in the Hanover County Public School system and was a dedicated employee of Holly Farms and Tysons for over 20 years.

Gladys was the eldest of eleven children and was a great help in raising her younger siblings. She always had something special for her nieces and nephews whenever she saw them. Gladys’ kind and loving spirit touched all her encountered her. She was a lover of hats and you rarely saw her without one when she was dressed up.

Gladys was preceded in death by her father, Marcellus Anderson, mother, Cuetta Anderson, brother, Charles Anderson, and sisters, Myrtle Smith and Helen Derricott. She leaves to cherish her memory, loving siblings, Edward Anderson, Mattie Anderson, Joyce Anderson, Nora Anderson, Levi Anderson, Earl Anderson, and Pamela Lewis; devoted friend Berniece Gaines Barham; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
