Esther Lee Sims Hart was born on October 3, 1931 in Madison, Virginia to the late Moses and Cora Sims. She departed this life on September 22, 2022 at the Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center in Culpeper, Virginia.

Esther joined the Friendship Baptist Church in Culpeper, Virginia under the leadership of Pastor John M. Thurston. She later joined the Little Zion Baptist Church in Orange, Virginia where Rev. Marion Wilkerson was her Pastor. She was an active member of Little Zion until her health started to decline.

Esther worked for numerous years as a healthcare provider. She was definitely a social butterfly and always the life of the party. She would often wear her matching lipstick and nail polish with a fly dress and heels. She was certainly a joy to be around. Her fun-loving spirit will truly be missed and always in our hearts.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Hart and her siblings; Evelyn Sims-Frye, Steve (Mary) Sims, Clarence Sims (Joyce), Curtis Sims (Lillian) and Fannie Bell Gibbs.

Esther leaves to cherish her memory her children, Esther Hill-Woodard (Anthony); Gwendolyn Harris (Jerry) and William Thurston (Roylene); her siblings, Virgie Sims and Audrey Sims Lewis; her eight grandchildren, Wanda, Rhonda, Jennifer, Anthony, Esther, Telly, Catrice and Ebony; twelve great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren, her loving caregiver Betty Edwards and a host of other relatives and friends.
