Mrs. Elaine Virginia Wattie “Jumomma” of Montpelier Virginia departed this life on April 16, 2021. She was born on February 16, 1942 to the late John (Zikka) and Mozelle Harris. She was educated in the Hanover County school system.

She accepted Christ at an early age, was baptized and joined the Bethany Babtist Church in Montpelier, VA where she was an active member until her health started declining.

Elaine had a warm, loving and giving spirit. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Leo Wattie. She loved family gatherings, special occasions and cooking for her family. Her specialty was preparing homemade rolls.

She also, loved to dress her favorite color was black, from her lipstick to her finger and toe nail polish. Elaine was well loved because she was a quiet and caring person.

Elaine leaves to cherish her memory four children, Evorn “Bonnie” Mason (Sherwood), Ray Harris (Gloria), Sabrina and Renee Harris; two grandchildren, Jessica and Erica Harris; two great-grandchildren, Dayvionne Harris and Daneisha Forbes. Six sisters, Gladys Harris, Orelia Stokes, Margaret Winston, Florence Brown, Agnes James (Earl) and Sharon Harris. Three brothers, John Harris, Leonard Harris and Alfred Harris. One aunt Hazel Woodson and one uncle William Thomas (Emily) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Two devoted nieces Cassandra Williams and Diane Burruss. Two brother-in-laws Thomas and James Wattie
