Deacon Earl George Winston, SR known as “Little Earl” was born November 23, 1933 in Hanover County, VA to the late Earl Mansfield and Bessie (Brown) Winston. He graduated from John M. Gandy High School 1953. He married his High School sweetheart Delia E. Lewis December 26, 1954; they remained married for an awesome 63 + years until her death in August 2017.

He received Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and joined the Abner Baptist Church where he faithfully served as a Deacon, Treasurer, Choir member, Usher and Superintendent of the Sunday School. He was honored as Father of the Year at Abner Baptist Church. He was employed by the Ashland Roller Mill in Hanover County, he owned a Hauling Truck Business for 15 years, he was also employed at the Hanover Juvenile Boys Home where he retired.

He enjoyed being a father, loving Husband and a dedicated church member. Another one of his greatest joys was planting a garden every summer to help feed his church community. He and his wife Delia had an extensive travel resume they travel to Frankfort, Germany; Brussum, The Netherlands, Louisiana, Mississippi, Maryland and New York to visit family.

He was preceded in death by his wife Delia; his sister Reba Winston Gregory. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted son Earl G. (Barbara) Winston JR; three sister in law’s Barbara (Cleo) Stansbury of Buffalo, New York; Mary Griffin of North Chesterfield, VA; Betty Jean Johnson of Glen Allen, VA; two brother in laws John Lewis (Eleanor) of Ashland, VA and Bernard Lewis of Richmond, VA; a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, devoted friends and a special nephew Phillip Pryor, JR.
