Obituary for Cora L Edwards

Cora L. Edwards was born on November 22, 1937 to the late Arthar and Essie Edwards. She departed this life on March 25, 2019 at the age of 81. She was one of ten children.

Cora grew up in Sale City, Georgia but eventually moved to Dallas, Texas where she began a long career as a check processor for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.

Cora received Christ at a young age. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Full Gospel Holy Temple Church in Dallas, TX. She served for approximately forty years, touching the lives of numerous people through consistent prayers and loving encouragement.

In 2016, Cora moved to Richmond, Virginia to be closer to her son Michael. Although she was not able to physically attend church service, she never lost sight of Jesus Christ. She encouraged herself by speaking to herself in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in her heart to the Lord. She always read her Bible, listened to CD’s, and read Christian books given to her by her daughter –in- law. She continued to build herself up in the faith and remained faithful to God.

She had nine brothers and sisters, six have preceded her in death; Arthar Edwards Jr., Willie James Edwards, Paul Edwards, King Edwards, Georgie Ruth Edwards Smith and Nettie Henderson.

She leaves to cherish her memory one devoted son, Michael Andre Edwards (Devita) of Richmond, Virginia; one grandchild, Michael Andre Edwards Jr. three siblings; Silas Edwards, Deloris Jackson and Robert Edwards. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

I would like to give you hope about your unexpected loss. The Bible at John 11:11-15 and 39-44, it reminds us that every good gift and every perfect present is from above. Even the gift of life, that God has the power to restore; Especially when it concerns our dead loved ones.
