Clovia J. Hoyle, affectionately known as “CloBabe,” was born on Tuesday, July 12, 1949, in Washington, D.C., to the late Oscar and Helen Hoyle. She departed this life at the age of 73 on Sunday, December 25, 2022.
Clovia was educated in the D.C. Public Schools system and had a long and rewarding career that crossed different and interesting paths, matching her dynamic and fun-loving personality. She was a police officer and health care professional. She also loved to decorate and plan parties.
Clovia was passionate about the arts. She was an avid reader; loved romance novels; music, especially Phyllis Hyman; the Washington Commanders (formally known as the Redskins); dancing; singing; movies; and cooking her infamous barbeque pig feet. Clovia also loved spending time with family and friends. Her favorite time of the year was the Christmas season. She was the life of the party and always spoke her mind.
Clovia was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Helen Hoyle; two brothers, William and Robert Hoyle, niece Christie Hoyle, and her great nephew Lauron Hoyle. Her legacy will live on through all those who love and care about her. She leaves to cherish her memories, her beloved siblings; Doris Hoyle, Oscar Hoyle, and Helen Gina Lynch; sister-in-law, Darlene Hoyle; her nieces and nephews, Michelle, Robyn, Helen, Mark, Nichelle, Frank, Cheryl, Karen, William, Traci, Robert, Eric, Cheree, Maile, Philip Michael, and Mesha; 18 great-nieces, 10 great-nephews, 2 great-great nieces, 2 great-great nephews, and numerous cousins, and friends.
