Charles (Butch) Lee Turner took his heavenly flight on November 2, 2019 at Henrico Doctors Forest Hospital. He was surrounded by his devoted family. He was born on August 4, 1945 to the late Izetta and James Taylor. He accepted Christ at an early age. He was a faithful member of St. Mark Baptist Church in Maidens, Virginia. He served as a member and President of the Usher board, drove the Sunday School bus, sung on the men choir and the brotherhood ministry. He was educated in the Goochland County Public Schools.
Charles enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and a dear friend to many. Charles enjoyed driving whether it was the Sunday school bus, church van or his passion, dump trucks. He was employed by F.R. Absher for over 30 years until his health began to fail. Since he couldn’t drive, he found a love for walking. He would walk to the bus stop to get his granddaughter off the bus everyday with his sidekick Sadie.
By God’s grace he is now reunited with his “Sweetie” of forty-one years Sarah Lee. His son’s who have gone before him, Roger and Charles (Lionel). He is survived by his loving children Jacqueline (Kelvin) and Kenneth (Michelle); grandchildren; Kenneth (Eboni), Kendra, Patrick, Jacquon (Reyghan), Charles (CJ), Rodrieguz, Demond and Shaniyah; great-grandchildren; Kenneth Jr., Jordynn, Ta’Laiya, Tamia and Ethan; two god children; Brittany and Brandon Miles; two great-god grandchildren; six sisters; Bertha Brooks, Carolyn Gunn, Rosa Bates, Wanda Taylor, Audrey Roberson and Joyce Robinson; four brothers; James Turner, Melvin Turner, Linwood Turner and Roy Carter; four sister in laws; Shirley Johnson, Annie (Florine) Carter, Lorraine Fleming and Barbara Turner; five brother in laws; Atto Fleming, Charles Brooks, Jefferson Bates, Ervin Roberson and June Robinson; one devoted pet; Sadie; one devoted friend; Gloria (Elaine) Morris; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
