On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, Our Heavenly Father, closed the eyes of our beloved Carolyn Earnestine Morris Carter, as she departed this earthly life, at the Henrico Doctors Hospital, Richmond, Virginia. Although our hearts are saddened and heavy with grief, we concur that God, the all-wise Father, gave her eternal rest.

Carolyn, was born on October 3, 1975, to her parents, the late Ernest and Carolyn Sue Morris. She was the youngest of four children; sharing her life with three brothers, Timothy, Stacy, and Ernest. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Timothy Morris; her maternal grandparents, Thomas and Bernice Henderson; her paternal grandparents, Eugene and Louise Morris; and her nephew Nehemiah Morris.

Carolyn received her education in the Hanover County Public Schools, graduating from Patrick Henry High School in 1994. She gave her life to Christ at an early age, was baptized, and joined the Bethany Baptist Church, Montpelier, Virginia, under the pastorate of Rev. Oliver Woodfolk. She was active in her church, singing in the choir and ushering during her childhood years. She attended services regularly until early 2020 with the onset of the COVID virus.
Carolyn was an independent childcare provider for several years, providing tender loving care to the children entrusted to her. She loved the little ones, and looked forward to them coming into her home.

On May 9, 2009, Carolyn married the love of her life, Frederick Carter, after a long-term relationship of over 16 years. To their union 2 children were born, Ieisha and Trayvon. In addition, she had 2 bonus children, Denesha and Frederick Jr. Nothing was more important to Carolyn than her family, her children were the apples of her eyes; and her nieces, nephews and cousins were all very special to her. She loved being with her family members. Carolyn loved to cook and watch her favorite television shows, specifically the show ‘Dallas’!!

Memories of Carolyn will be cherished by: her loving and devoted husband, Frederick Carter; her devoted children, Ieisha and Trayvon; two bonus children, Denesha and Frederick Carter, Jr.; four grandchildren, Naz’Jae, Marcellus, Za’Kwon, and Demani, and one ‘expected’ grandchild in the very near future; Four God children, Khadedra, Tashi, T’Aani, and Tinae.; Also cherishing her memories are: her brothers, Ernest Morris (Linda) and Stacey Morris (Elaine); mother-in-law, Inez Banks (Gabriel); six aunts, 2 devoted–Gertrude Fountain and Melinda Henderson, Alice Morris, Gloria Morris, Louise Pleasants, and Bertha Gattison (James); two uncles, Dedric Morris and Theodore Jackson; seven nieces (Devoted) Nakesha (Tamika), Aryiana, Ameri, Shameka (Sam), Jaala, Mackenzie, and Gabriella; five nephews Ernest, Jr., Stacy, Jr., Barney, Jr., Timothy, Jr, and Alijah; two great-nephews, Kymani and Mykel, one sister-in-law, Cindy Carter; one brother-in-law Alton Banks; and a host of other cousins, family members, and friends; Five devoted cousins Melissa Shelton, Amy Morris, Felicia Jackson, Percy James, Jr., and Dewayne Morris and devoted friend Michelle Tyler.
