Arrow Elizabeth Mitchell better known as “Bet” daughter of the late Thomas and Nelia Thaniel was born on August 2, 1927. After a long illness that began in December 2019, our heavenly father came down and picked our Mom to come on home to glory. She departed this life on Monday August 24th at 6:55 PM at St. Mary’s Hospital, Richmond Virginia.

Raised on a farm with her parents and siblings, Elizabeth was educated in Hanover County, she accepted Christ at an early age. As a member of the Bethany Baptist Church she sang on the Senior Choir for many years and where she held several positions. She taught Sunday School for several years and was a part of the search committee for the church. Also, in 1999 she as the mother of the year.

Elizabeth started working at a young age at the Ashland laundry, then the shirt factory until she went at Holly Farms now known as Tyson’s Food where she retired after 24 years. After retirement, she did domestic house keeping for numerous years.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Thomas Edward Mitchell, know as (Ralph) on April 24, 1948. From the union three daughters were born. One proceeded in death as an infant. Her greatest attributes to her family and friends was her love, kindness, respect and loyalty.

She is survived by two loving and caring daughters, Ms. Mario Yolanda Mitchell of Long Beach California and Mrs. Ann Jefferson (Sherman Jefferson) of King William County. Three grandchildren LaVonda Wyatt, Ryan Wyatt and Tianda Jefferson. Five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. 5 sisters Mrs. Naomi White, Mrs. Lora Thompson, Mrs. Alma James, Vernell Cary (James Cary) and Verna Thaniel. (Siblings Proceeded in death Mrs. Ireatha White, John Thaniel Sr. and Thomas Thaniel). Three sister-in-laws. Mrs. Edna Jenkins, Mrs. Ruth Thaniel and Mrs. Vernice Thaniel. One dedicated friend Pinetta Coleman. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
