Althea “Fea” Parham transitioned this life on May 18, 2024 while visiting her sister and mother in St. Louis, Missouri. She grew up in Madison Heights, VA with four siblings and attended Amherst County schools. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church. She moved to Richmond, VA in 1977 and remained there until her passing.

She worked at Security Federal Bank & Trust for 10 years as a Branch Manager and then retired from Susan E. Wade Chapter 13 Trustee Bankruptcy Law Office after 31 years of service in 2021.

She was an avid bowler and was extremely competitive. Her favorite card games were Mau-Mau, Spades and Bid Whist. You were only given one round of teaching and then you were expected to play. She was truly a fashion icon in her own right. She owned an array of clothing with matching shoes, pocketbooks and hats. She loved interior decorating and changed her decor color every season. Regardless of where she was at any given day or time, she was never caught in public without lipstick or earrings.

She is preceded in death by her father – Royal Dillard Brown; her brother – Roy “Billy” Brown; and her sister – Brenda K. Lofton. She is survived by her mother – Mildred V. Brown; her children – John Tucker Smith III (Chasity) and Andrea P Smith; two sisters – Cassandra Hamilton and Linda Brown; one sister-in-law – Patricia Jones; six grandchildren – Brandon Smith, Brittany Johnson (Marvin), Chastyn Smith, Jada Smith, Elise Briggs, Braxton Offor, and Jonathan Smith; one great-granddaughter – Joelle Johnson; two beloved childhood friends – Willie and Linda Long; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
