God called his name and Allen Davis Baylor Sr. quietly slipped away peacefully Feb. 10, 2022 at 1:13pm surrounded by his family.
Allen was born on Sep. 1, 1934 to the late George and Mary Baylor. Allen accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at Salem Baptist Church, King George. Allen received his education at Union High School in Caroline County.
Allen went on to work for Mt. Rose Canning Company. From there Allen went to work for NSWC Navy Base as an engineer working on ships. Allen retired in 1993.
Allen was a strong lifetime member of the Vikings Hunt Club for over 60 years. Allen was a longtime member of the Mix It Up Van Club. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan. Allen played baseball in his younger years, and he was the pitcher. Allen also loved racing.
Allen was a big family man. He loved his family. He loved his grandkids and great grandkids, and they loved their PopPop.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents Mary and George Baylor; Sisters Lonnie Maud, Ada, June, Catherine and Mae; Brothers Malcom, George Robert, and Ferman; Son Allen Baylor Jr.; Daughter Georgia Roy; and Grandson Calvin Jones.
Left to carry on his legacy and memories, his wife Hazel Baylor; Daughters Lavern (Joe) and Sherry (Mike) of King George; Sons David (Rennay) of Colonial Beach, Tony (Tracey) of Cocoa Beach Fl, and Sterling (Stephanie) of Washington DC.; Stepsons Lonnie (Lorraine) and Jimmy (Denise) of Westmoreland and Troy (Margie) of Richmond County;Sister in-laws Mary of Carmel Church and Martha of Henrico; and brother in-laws William and Raymond, both of King George. Allen had 16 grandkids, 35 great-grandkids and a host of nieces and nephews.
Allen also had 6 special friends Kenneth Jones, William Holmes, James Harvey, Larry Harvey, Wayne Jackson Sr, and Larry Ferguson.
