Ginial James (Puddin) Minor, son of Rosetta Lee Beynum Minor and the late Ginial Harry Minor, was born on December 26, 1947, in Richmond, Virginia. He departed this life at a.m. on May 13, 2018 at his home in Clinton, Maryland.
James attended Caroline County Public Schools and graduated from Union High School. He joined the Second Baptist Church in Ruther Glen at an early age. He served his Country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969 in which he served in Germany and reached the rank of Sergeant. After returning from Germany he moved to Washington, DC where he began working for the Washington Gas Light Company in Sprinfgield, Virginia in 1971; he started out as a Helper Basic.
He met his late wife, Vivian Person and they married in August 1974. From that union, they raised three sons together. He received various awards during his time at Washington Gas and retired in 2004 as an Inspector. He later met his present wife, Miyoko (Mimi) and they married in September 1999 and raised two daughters together. James was a quiet spoken individual who was strong and protective, but at the same time, patient and caring.
He loved his family and enjoyed interacting socially with friends and loved ones at the annual “Minor” cookout. He also loved baseball with a passion and played first and third base positions in his youth. His famous words when he got excited about something was “dog gonnit”.
