Ruby Helen Coles entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Regional Memorial Hospital. Ruby was born May 30, 1931 to the late James and Bertha Coles in Hanover County, Virginia. In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her daughter Phyllistine Rousey, 6 sisters and two brothers.
Ruby confessed Christ at an early age and joined Union Baptist Church. Through the years, Ruby was a devoted member of Union Baptist Church, serving as a choir member and deaconess.
Ruby was an employee at Holly Farms in Glen Allen, Virginia and retired after decades of service. She also cared for others as a private duty nurse.
Memories of Ruby will remain in our hearts forever. She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Alfred Coles (Jackie), Edmond Coles and Wayne Coles; and one daughter Christine Carter (Robert). Ruby leaves behind one brother Benjamin Coles, whom she affectionately referred to as “Bruh Ben”. Ruby is also survived by seven grandchildren, Junior, Brian, Brandon, Edra, Cameron, Byshawn and Asia; 23 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
