Obituary

James “Bubba” Ellis departed this life on Monday, March 26, 2018. He was introduced to Christ at a young age. He was a proud and faithful member of Mount Hope Baptist Church where he held several leadership positions. He was loved by all who knew him.

James “Bubba” Ellis was a rare and unique gem! He had a deep devotion to family and friends. He had a great love for driving at an early age. He loved traveling the highways and byways of life and now he is traveling the highways and byways in heaven.

James “Bubba” Ellis was the only child of James S. and Lucy E. Ellis (both deceased) and was born on August 24, 1946. He left to cherish his memory his wife Marilyn Ellis; and his children Tonya Johnson (daughter), James “Jamie” Ellis (Tami, MD), Janelle Ellis (daughter), and Jamie “SNAPPER” Ellis; ten grandchildren; two aunts, Doris Ellis and Mary Graves (Samuel), and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. One devoted sister-in-law Rosa E. Johnson (Jerry) and one devoted niece Lisa Eggleston.

James “Bubba” Ellis graduated from A.G. Richardson High School in Louisa County, Virginia. While attending High School he realized his passion for driving the school bus and picking up children. Later he made a career of commercial truck driving and was employed by Ty’s Hauling and Paving Inc., Richmond, Virginia.
