Myrtle Ealaine Thomas entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in her home surrounded by family. She was born on June 14, 1957 in Caroline Co. VA to Margaret M. Lewis, and the late Edward G. Lewis. She joined Saint Luke Baptist Church at an early age, and attended Caroline Co. Public Schools.
Following graduation, she attended NC A&T, in Greensboro, NC. While residing in Greensboro, NC it became her second home, and she gained many lifelong friends. She was employed by Safford Dodge for many years, leading in car sells and later as a manager. She was joined in Holy Matrimony with Ronald F. Thomas on December 11, 2006 in Fredericksburg, VA.
Her father Edward G. Lewis, and sister Evelyn Moore precede her home going. Her beloved mother Margaret Lewis, devoted husband Ronald F. Thomas, and two daughters Kawanza Lewis, and Karla Lewis survive her as well as five sisters Marie Moore, Ellie Brown (Phillip), Doris Ann Lewis, Adell Green, Vernell Lewis, and brother Salim Shabazz; three sister-in-laws Evelyn Bilal, Francine Burrell, Dale Dockery (Charles), and three stepchildren Kenneth Thomas, Ricardo Thomas, and Juanesta Thomas; three grandchildren Alaina, Elijah, and Micah; and six step grandchildren Demetrick, Kaila, Kiara, Brent, Draylon, and Alexis. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, close friends, and coworkers she loved so much.
Marilyn, as she liked to be called, never met a stranger. She was generous to all, hardworking, strong, and devoted to her family. Her smile and laughter will be missed, and memories of her never forgotten.

My sincere condolences to the family in this most difficult time. I just wanted to share some comforting scriptures that I pray bring you comfort. The Holy Bible reveals that God purposes to remove all the distressing conditions that cause sorrow and pain, including death. He promises: "Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things will passed away"-Revelation 21:3, 4. Very soon all our tears of sorrow will be turned into tears of joy, for this is God's promise to us.
