Charles Milton Braxton, age 83 son of the late Addison and Belle (Hedgeman) Braxton, and the brother of James (d) (Louise), Ernest (d), William (Anne)(d), Leonard (d); and loving brother of Annie (d), Virginia (d) and Margaret Braxton of Tappahannock, VA.
Charles Milton Braxton or “Milton” as he was fondly called, was born on September 8, 1934 in Tappahannock, VA and transitioned to Heaven on Monday February 5, 2018 after a short battle with lung cancer. He attended schools in Essex Co, VA.
He worked various jobs before working for Giant Food. He was a Seafood manager until 1989 when an act of heroism at work left him permanently injured. He then became the most popular courtesy clerk in the area. Milton loved gardening and fires in his wood stove. Milton regularly spent quality time with four generations of his family. His grandchildren love their time spent with “Papa”.
Milton was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church in Champlain, VA and later joined Mt. Hope Baptist Church, Stafford.
Milton leaves to mourn his wife of 57 years, Edna “Geneva” Chamberlain Braxton, two sons Milton “DeWayne” (Dale) Braxton of Bowling Green, VA and Gerald “Kennedy” (Delese) of Fredericksburg, VA and one daughter Glenda Braxton of Fredericksburg, VA.
Six grandchildren: Anthony Braxton of Spotsylvania, VA; DeVon Green (Adonna) of Upper Marlboro, MD, Heather Green, Brandon Braxton, Audreanna Braxton all of Fredericksburg, VA and Chavonne Braxton of St. Cloud, FL.
Milton was also loved by his eleven great-grandchildren and extended family which includes one sister, one sister-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

We will always remember that smile and all the kind words !! Milton you were and always will be a Stafford hero and our good friend ! Memories of Giant food and the time u bought my dads Burgandy and white truck and seeing I ride down courthouse Rd !! You and your wife made our Stafford community such a great place to live ! I miss the days at Stafford Middle my mom ( Kaye Harwood was in Guidance when she worked with a Geneva) so blessed to have know you ! Rest easy my friend ! Your were one in a million
