Casper M. Carter



Today we celebrate a phenomenal father, a loving grandfather, a dedicated uncle and an unforgettable friend. Casper M. Carter was born on April 26, 1918 to the late Richard and Rosa Terrell Carter in Caroline County, VA.

He transitioned into eternal rest on December 26, 2017 at the home of his daughter, Judy Carter in Hanover County, VA. Casper was preceded in death by his wife, Grace E. Carter, oldest son Ernest Carter and his siblings, Edmonia, Grace, Onelia, Givden and Russell. At an early age, he joined Jericho Baptist Church and remained an active and devoted lifetime member until his health failed.

He was educated in the Caroline County School System. Casper join the US Army, where he proudly served his Country, he made his home in Washington D.C. Where he worked for Rucker Electronics as a driver, and a DC Cab Driver for 50 years. Casper was best known for his kind and giving heart, he welcomed other family members into our home to stay if needed, always an open door policy to all. And we can’t forget that million dollar smile and that awesome sense of humor. In 1940,

Grace E. Mickens joined Casper in Holy Matrimony. Six children were born of their union: Ernest, Gayle, Ronald, Stanley, Judy and Andre. Left to cherish his memories: Gayle (Bill), Ronald (Lona/ deceased), Stanley, Judy and Andre. 5 Grandchildren, 9 GreatGrands, 3 Nieces, including specially devoted niece., Delores Pruden of Washington, DC., Great nieces and a host of Relatives and friends including Ertell (Peaches) Lee who was instrumental in helping dad transition from Washington ,DC to Hanover County.
