Marvin Ray Wright



Marvin Ray Wright, departed this life on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at his home in Cambridge, Maryland, after a lengthy illness. He is preceded in death by his father Joseph Curtis Wright, Sr., mother Irma Kay Wright, and brother, Joseph Curtis Wright, Jr.

Marvin, affectionately called “Marvin Ray”, by family, was born November 23, 1959 in Richmond, Virginia. He attended Caroline County and Spotsylvania County Public Schools. He served in the U.S. Navy. After meeting his wife he has made his home in Maryland for the past 22 years. Marvin had a career with Orkin Pest Control before his illness forced him into retirement.

His most cherished and fondest moments were devoted to spending quality time with his wife and children; watching or attending sporting events with his son (JD), brothers; and brothers-in-law and playing video games in his leisure time. He was a passionate Redskin fan and enjoyed discussions about their games with everyone, especially his son and brothers. Lastly, he loved the water and was an avid fisherman and was always wondering what his daughter’s Sadie Rae & Latoya Raye was up to. Marvin leaves behind many wonderful memories that will be endearing in the hearts and minds of his family and friends forever more. In his last days, Marvin encouraged his family not to be sad and enjoy life to its fullest.

Marvin is survived by his Wife Sheila Lee Wright and son: Jahmear Dion (JD) of Cambridge, MD, daughters; Latoya of San Antonio, Texas; Sadie of Woodbridge, VA. ; sisters: Irma Wright-Ford (James) of Spotsylvania, VA, Veral Wright of Washington, DC (Henry), Gloria Wright of Locust Grove, VA, and Sheila A. Wright of Alexandria, VA; brothers: Larry Wright (Susan) of Locust Grove, VA., Michael Wright and Calvin Wright (Brenda) of Washington, DC; sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins, extended family members and friends.
