BERTHA LEE WILKERSON MOSBY, 86, DEPARTED THIS LIFE ON JUNE 2 2017, AFTER A BRIEF ILLNESS. SHE WAS BORN IN NORLINA, NORTH CAROLINA TO THE LATE CHARLENA WILKERSON. JUST THREE DAYS AFTER GIVING BIRTH, CHARLENA WILKERSON PASSED AWAY, LEAVING BERTHA TO BE RAISED BY HER GRANDMOTHER, ADDIE WILKERSON. BERTHA GREW UP IN RICHMOND, VA, ATTENDEND MAGGIE WALKER HIGH SCHOOL WHERE SHE GRADUATED AND THEN ATTENDED ST. PHILLIPS SCHOOL OF NURSING. SHE THEN WORKED AT PINE CAMP AND ADVANCED HER CAREER TO E.C WILLIAMS AND MCV WHERE SHE WAS ONE OF THE FIRST DIALYSIS NURSES. ALSO, THIS IS WHERE SHE MET HER BELOVED FRIEND MARY SMITH.

BERTHA ACCEPTED CHRIST AT AN EARLY AGE AND WAS A FAITHFUL MEMBER OF CEDAR STREET BAPTIST CHURCH UNTIL RELOCATING TO GLEN ALLEN AND JOINING ST PETER BAPTIST CHURCH WHERE SHE SERVED FAITHFULLY WITH THE SENIOR CHOIR AND SENIOR MINISTRY. THE BROWN BAG MINISTRY AND THE NURSING HOME MINISTRY WERE HER FAVORITES.

SHE WAS PROCEEDED IN DEATH BY HER LATE HUSBAND, STEWART J. MOSBY, SR. AND SON STEWART J MOSBY, JR, BOTH OF GLEN ALLEN, VA. BERTHA WAS KNOWN FOR HER HUMBLE SPIRIT AND HER BEAUTIFUL SMILE. THE WASHINGTON REDSKINS WAS HER FAVORITE FOOTBALL TEAM. AMONG HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS, SHE WAS KNOWN TO BE QUITE THE DIVA WITH HER STYLISH OUTFITS.

SHE LEAVES TO CHERISH HER MEMORY, HER DEVOTED DAUGHTER, STEPHANIE MOSBY-CARROLL, A DEVOTED SON-IN-LAW, RONALD CARROLL, JR., A DEVOTED SON, MARVIN LEE MOSBY, GRANDCHILDREN, LASHLEY WALDRON, SERVONNA CARROLL, DANIELLE MOSBY, DERICK MOSBY, GREATGRAND SONS, JOHNATHAN AND JOEL MOSBY, SISTERS-IN-LAW, MARLENE MOSBY HALL, SARAH, MINNIE AND BARBARA MOSBY, BROTHERS –IN-LAW, LESLIE AND SAMUEL MOSBY, DEVOTED FRIEND, MARY SMITH, A HOST OF NIECES AND NEPHEWS AND OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS.
