Gloria Jean (Tippy) Anderson departed this life to be with God after a lengthy illness on March 26, 2017. Tippy was born on September 11, 1947 the oldest child of the late Garrett and Jean Anderson of Ruther Glen, Va. Brother, Garrett (Frankie Boy) Anderson and sister Sedessa (Peannie) Smith, preceded her in death.

She accepted Christ at and early age and joined Mt. Salem Baptist Church. She attended Union High School and was later employed with Caroline Schools. Tippy loved helping people and cared for those in need. She nurtured her younger siblings; cared for and guided her grandchildren. She fed and cared for anyone in need. Tippy was an excellent cook and enjoyed feeding all those who stopped by to visit her. Like her father, Tippy was known for telling great stories, many of which got better each time she told them. She was never judgmental and accepted all for who they were. All in all she was an easy person to love.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Anderson and son Dana Anderson, both of Ruther Glen, Va.
