Obituary
We come to honor Rosie Mae Montague affectionately known to family and friends as "Bug". She was the youngest child of Allen and Ida Montague. Rosie was born August 13, 1946. On February 11, 2017, Rosie was called home to be with the angels.
Rosie grew up in Spotsylvania County where she attended John J. Wright School. She gave her life to God at a early age. Rosie was a member of Second New Hope Baptist Church where she proudly served on the women's choir and the usher board. Rosie worked for many years at Howard Johnson's Hotel in Spotsylvania, VA, and later for the Federal Government in Washington, D.C.
She cherished her family and after her mother became ill, spent many years as her caretaker. Rosie did not have children of her own but was a special Aunt to her nieces and nephews who have fond memories of spending weekends with her. The love she showed will forever be remembered.
She is survived by one niece, Thea Maddox (Eddie), three nephews, Kenneth Samuels (Petra), Allen Samuels (Crystal), and Walter Montague, Jr., two sisters in-law, Evelyn Montague and Mamie Montague, all of Spotsylvania; great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Allen Montague and Ida Montague, two brothers Walter Montague and William Montague, and two sisters Gladys Samuels and Marion Montague.

Condolences to the family. The Montaques were important people to the Purks family. They were our neighbors and our friends. Rosie was a very special lady. God gave the world this angel to share her amazing light. But now Heaven has a reclaimed their Angel. Rest in Peace. Your work here is done. The Purks Family.

My heart is very heavy right now. You were my second mother. You helped raise me into the man that I am today. I can't even begin to describe the pain that I am feeling right now. God decided that he needed you in heaven more than I needed you here.
I will forever and always love you and will never, ever forget you.
Your Kennie- Feenie !

I miss you so much, rosie. I have been your technician for 3 years and not a day goes by that I'm not thinking of you. God took you too soon I wasn't ready. My heart hurts for your family and since I'll be working in can't come to your service. I know God knows best I just wish he had waited a little while longer. Rest in peace my dear as you will forever be in my heart. Love and miss you Hopeā”
